Our masthead features a juvenile red-tailed hawk perched on the wires at Substation 7, named Clara.
Red-tailed hawks are best known for their classic "screams" uttered when they dive. Whenever you hear a bald eagle or another hawk in a movie or TV, it is usually the red-tail attack call. Birders think that switcharoo is really a hoot.
