Share YOUR Pennies
Share the Pennies is a new, voluntary program sponsored by MLGW and Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association (MIFA). Share the Pennies encourages MLGW customers to round their utility bill to the next highest dollar amount. Here's how it works: if your utility bill is $117.50 it will be rounded up to $118 and your $0.50 donation will be added to Project CARE, a home weatherization account managed by MIFA. Project CARE funds will be awarded to qualified elderly and/or disabled customers to assist with emergency energy efficiency repairs to their homes.
Save Money!
As an incentive for enrolling in Share the Pennies, you will receive a coupon for a FREE 4-pack of energy efficient Compact Florescent Lights (CFLs) that can be redeemed at participating Home Depot stores. Share the Pennies will earn you savings when you replace four old incandescent bulbs with four new CFLs in your most frequently used light fixtures. You can save an average of $20 per year on your utility bill and at the same time provide needed assistance to an elderly and/or disabled neighbor.
Enroll!
To enroll in Share the Pennies and to learn more about Project CARE go online to www.mlgw.com/sharethepennies or call MLGW Customer Relations department at (901) 528-4887.
