Introducing Clean Memphis!

Clean Memphis, along with a growing number of partners, neighborhood associations, community development corporations and businesses (including MLGW), is hosting organized clean-ups around the city on September 6th.

Clean Memphis is a new organization dedicated to cleaning up Memphis. Their goal is to build coalitions between neighborhoods, businesses, churches and various community organizations to foster ongoing, sustainable clean-up and beautification initiatives.

Clean Memphis aims to systematically clean the city by dividing it into 18 sections headed by "Clean leaders" that have a vested interest in that section.

The Clean Leader will work with the Project Coordinator to identify areas most in need and also recruit volunteers, within those designated areas, to assist in the clean-up process.

Rather than a one-time event, Clean Memphis will hold quarterly events to maintain those levels as well as providing painting and other support to enhance our city's appeal.

The goal is to promote accountability for residents, businesses, churches, etc... within each area with an "Adopt and Area" philosophy. Additionally, Clean Memphis aims to provide educational services to our City and County Elementary Schools with regards to litter and recycling.
