Off the Charts

With Earth Day coming up on April 22, there is sure to be lots of talk about conservation and other "green" activities this month.

While listening, keep this in mind:
Tennessee has the dubious honor of having the highest average electricity use per household of any state (about 16,000 kWh).

MLGW's residential customers' average usage is about 15,000 kWh--4,000 kWh higher than the US average of 11,000 kWh.

So when MLGW customers say their bills are high, they’re right! They are using substantially more electricity than the rest of the nation.
