The 25th Annual Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo was held June 2 - 4 at Walters State Community College in Sevierville, Tennessee and MLGW was once again among the competitors.

Day one kicked off with a golf tournament and motorcycle ride to raise money for fallen lineworkers and their families in the Tennessee Valley. The following two days were filled with friendly competition where lineworkers competed in four categories: Individual, Senior, Apprentice and Team.

Here’s a rundown of the awards won by our lineworkers.

Individual Lineman Competition:

Colin Vinson

3rd place, Lightning Arrester Replacement

Lineman Team Competition:

Shane Huston, James Smith (Devlin), Shad Old and Steve Person (alternate)

3rd place Hurtman Rescue

3rd place Lightning Arrester Replacement

2nd place Obstacle Course

4th place overall

Apprentice Competition:

Troy Huston and Spencer Linley did not win any trophies, but they competed hard and completed all events safely and without any deductions.

Gaspo Dixon, Corporate Safety Specialist, was the chief judge for the Team Obstacle Course Event as well as the Individual Lineman Obstacle Course Event.

Many thanks to these employees who always represent the Division in a positive, productive, and professional manner.
