Sales
Will Help Provide Utility Assistance to Families in Crisis
LipSync
Plus ticket sales will benefit the Plus-1 Program, a Memphis Light, Gas and
Water Division program administered by the Metropolitan Inter-Faith
Association.
LipSync
Plus is presented by MIFA and WMC Action News 5, Memphis Comedy Festival, The
Hard Rock Café, Tennessee Valley Authority, New Horizon
Apartments.
Those
supporting Lip Sync Plus can not only help a family in need of utility
assistance but also eat, drink and watch Memphis and others locked in a lip-sync
battle at the Hard Rock Café, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., on April
14.
MIFA Plus
1 encourages MLGW customers to pay $1 more on their utility bill every month.
That dollar will be used to help cover people who cannot afford their
bill.
MIFA Plus
1 helps hundreds of families each year. Last year, MIFA received nearly 17,000
requests for financial assistance, but because of the program's limited funds,
less than 3,000 of these families received Plus 1
assistance.
