MLGW employees power area charities

Three successful fundraisers recently demonstrated the need of area neighbors and the generosity of MLGW employees. The Operation Feed campaign raised a healthy $30,899, benefiting the Mid-South Food Bank. LaQuinta Johnson, Customer Care Center and Liz Hawthorne, Information Services, were co-chairs; Cliff DeBerry, Director, Analysis, Strategy and Performance, was the executive sponsor.

Teeing-up for a cause…a team led by David Staggs, Revenue Protection, presented the United Way Golf Tournament at Glen Eagle Golf Course. Members of the committee were David Vick, Water Meter and Wally Kellett, Gas Service. There were tournament winners and losers, but for organizers the leaderboard showed all aces—with an $8,000 score for the charity.

Lastly, taking it to the stage during Memphis in May Music Fest, employee musicians and their friends raked in Plus-1 donations to the tune of $1,251. Michael Lewis, Water Engineering, Marty Bond, Rates and Regulatory affairs and Steve Shepard, Water Distribution - SSC, served as the event's coordinators.
