Meet Christin

We're starting a new feature here on the blog. From time to time we will post profiles of employees so that you can get to know us better.

First up is Ms. Christin Webb. She has been with the company since June of 2000 and has worked in a number of areas including Research, Cashiers, Building Services, Billing Matrix, Community Relations, Records Retention, and Purchasing. Christin says she has learned a lot about the company over the last eleven years. "I've been able to match up the pieces in the big puzzle that is MLGW," she says.

Her current role is Procurement Specialist. She's responsible for the procurement of water related commodities, such as hydrants, pipes, water chemicals, etc. Procurement specialists serve as liaisons between MLGW and suppliers in purchasing materials necessary for MLGW to best serve its customers.

In her spare time, Christin is an aspiring author. She writes both fiction and non-fiction. She maintains a blog for her fiction stories called, Is it Real? "I like to talk about real things in a fictionalized way," explains Christin. "The blog is me in the raw."

She updates the blog monthly and says it is a great way to get feedback. "You will see errors. It's a place for me to perfect my craft," says Christin.

Later this year, Christin is self-publishing a book called Enough Time. It's taken her three years to finish, and she's thrilled. "It's about life in general and about taking control of the now," explains Christin.

Christin's father, Arthur Webb, was a writer too and she says it just comes naturally to her. "I can't touch his skill," she says humbly. "He was all about facts, and I'm all about la la land."

She has plenty of more books in mind and plans to write them all someday. Her daughter, Jasmine, who is four, is her inspiration. "Everything I do is for her. I'm trying to become this whole person I write about for her," says Christin.
