In appreciation for all the hard work and long hours needed to restore power after both the Super Cell storm and the Father's Day storm outages and infrastructure damage, Miss Crumpy’s food truck served up hot wings and fried chicken to MLGW line workers. Set up under the canopy outside Building 1 at MLGW’s North Service Center at midday on Friday, July 7, Miss Crumpy’s served up a “thank you, MLGW line workers” appreciation lunch and fed our hungry linemen and linewomen.
Appreciative line workers arrived in their utility trucks and really enjoyed the great food provided by Freda Crump and her hard-working cook, Ronald Jones. “It was our absolute pleasure to feed your linemen,” said Freda. “They were actually the first group that we’ve fed that said, ‘thank you’ and didn’t have a single complaint in our three years! That alone made it that much more worthwhile.”
Miss Crumpy said she was out in northern Shelby County during the recent storm restoration periods and had seen MLGW line workers hard at work for long hours. She is grateful for their efforts, and for keeping the power supply repaired for the community, her neighborhood and her business. She said it was time to show her gratitude. Thanks, Freda! We are very grateful to you, as well.
