MLGW employees continue to shine during annual United Way campaign

The MLGW United Way committee, led by Chantal Lairy and Taurus Bradford, presented a check to Dr. Kenneth Robinson and Albert Edwards with the United Way of the Mid-South for $661,829.63 during the March 2 Board of Commissioners meeting.

“Although we thought that the pandemic was over, the world showed us all that we were wrong. Covid-19 was still in full affect. That’s why our theme was “New Normal” Still United Stronger!” says Chantal.

“We managed to have a dedicated steering committee of 13 members. These members put their feet on the ground and literally ran to each location. We held virtual meetings with agency speakers, in person meetings with large areas were held on docks (or any open space where we could social distance) and we left flyers for departments that chose not to hold meetings.”

All of this hard work definitely paid off. After the meeting, an Appreciation Day was held in the Administration building lobby for Key People who helped their respective areas organize contributions. Key People were given gift cards in gratitude.
