Drivers may be affected by utility work in Midtown and East Memphis

Starting Tuesday, May 30, utility crews will be installing a new gas main at the intersection of Peabody and South Bellevue in Midtown.

In addition, workers are also doing underground utility construction on North Highland south of Sam Cooper Boulevard.

The work in Midtown is expected to be finished by July 31. The East Memphis project will take longer and is expected to be finished by Nov. 30, 2017.

Please drive with caution while construction is underway or take alternative routes to avoid these two high traffic areas. Traffic lanes will be reduced during both construction phases.
