MLGW and MIFA are teaming up again to present the second annual Lip Sync Plus contest hosted by the Hard Rock Café on April 20.

LipSync Plus is a lip syncing competition that pits local celebrities against finalists from the community.

The LipSync Plus contest begins now with an online competition where anyone in MLGW’s service territory can submit their videos to become a finalist. The deadline for online submissions is March 29, and there is no fee to enter.

Contestants can upload their video and find contest rules at lipsyncplus.com. The top four vote getters in the online competition will compete in the LipSync Plus 2017 Grand championship. Prizes include two airline tickets from Allegiant Airlines.

Celebrity competitors are: Kerry Diamon Holliday, star of CMT’s television series Sun Records; Shelby County Mayor Mark H. Luttrell, Jr.: local radio personality with KJMS and WDIA Stan “the bell ringer” Bell; Cynthia Daniels, founder of Black Restaurant Week, and Leigh Shockey, CEO of Drexel Chemical. There will also be a guest performance by LaTasha Peeples, the 2016 LipSync Plus Community and Grand Champion.

Celebrity judges include Joe Birch, WMC-TV, Holly Whitfield, I Love Memphis blogger, and Paula Raiford, owner of Paula and Raiford's Disco. Katrina Coleman with the Memphis Comedy Festival will serve as emcee. For ticket and event information, go to lipsyncplus.com
