10 Ways to Cut Your Energy Bill. In all seriousness it really is my favorite MLGW brochure. I use it in all of my presentations and it's always stocked when we set up a booth at an event. If you've ever wondered why your bill was high or wanted to know an easy way to lower your energy usage, this brochure is for you.

We go pretty far out of our way to conserve water in our household, but it's disheartening when we always get charged for 3CCF of water when we use less. What is this minimum cost that we are paying? Is there a way to eliminate it so we can be rewarded by a lower bill (I know it's not much but every bit helps us stay motivated.)
A minimum bill applies anytime the water consumption is less than 4 ccf. The minimum bill recovers MLGW's fixed cost, which we incur even when there is no consumption through the meter. (Similar to your phone--you pay a fixed cost whether you make a call or not.) There is no way to avoid these charges.
How do you know you are using less than 3CCF?
Our bill was estimated at 3ccf last month due to weather, but we checked it and the meter read that we had only used 2ccfs (I'm assuming the units are all in CCFs)
