We've had tons of birds at our house due to the plethora of seeds falling from our old gum trees. I saw one this morning that I'd not noticed before and sent a description to our resident birder. He identified it immediately as a
Dark-eyed Junco, which he says are known as the "snow birds" because they bring the cold air with them. "Everyone was telling me they saw them last week and the "cold air" would follow - I guess they were right," he said.
