Whole Foods Grand Opening

In case you haven't heard, Wild Oats officially opens at Whole Foods tomorrow! They are offering free reusable bags to the first 100 shoppers Friday-Sunday! (The store opens at 8am.) They're bags are really nice and definitely worth getting up early for!

Whole Foods is having a multitude of events throughout the weekend, so stop by whenever you can. (See a full listing here. MLGW will be in attendance on Sunday, which is ECO-DAY, and we'll have lots of good energy saving info, so come see us!

Other interesting events going on Sunday are:

12:00-2:00 p.m. - EcoTouch waterless carwash to benefit Shelby Farms Park Alliance! Bring in the car for a wash that is safe for the environment and great for your car! Our volunteers will be collecting donations to benefit Shelby Farms!

12:00-4:00 p.m. - Live reggae music by Exodus! Local organizations that are helping Memphis go green, including Bio-Diesel Memphis, Memphis Food Awareness, MLGW, Shelby Farms, ArtsMemphis & Biofarmers of Memphis!

2:00 p.m. - Recycled art & fashion show on the main stage! See how local artists are recycling in style! Models will tote the latest in eco fashion, from bags to bottle caps! Also featuring organic apparel by Whole Foods Market! Recycled art pieces will be displayed in our Art Tent before and after the show!

2:45 p.m. - Our rain barrels are up for auction! All proceeds will benefit the Whole Planet Foundation. Local artists have donated their time to customize these barrels with beautiful, one of a kind, murals! Bid to own your own bio-art!
