Here's an interesting an idea for Halloween...Trick-or-treating for cellphones! This might be something "fun" for teenagers to do. (Or people who don't like candy.)
You can request a free Halloween collection kit by visiting the Good Deed Foundation. The kit includes eCards and door hangers to remind your neighbors to have their unused cell phones ready for collection this Halloween. After trick-or-treating, drop your collected phones into the postage paid box included in the kit, FedEx it, and the Women’s Funding Alliance and Good Deed will take care of the rest.
The cell phones will be recycled through ReCellular, which recycles and refurbishes old cell phones according to EPA standards to generate funds for charitable causes. The goal is to recycle one million cell phones by the end of the year, thereby raising over a million dollars to be distributed via grants to organizations working to alleviate women’s poverty and find lasting solutions to climate change.
