From this week's Flyer.
As part of the Brooks Museum's "eARTh matters" environmental program, Tootsie Bell designed and created three bicycle racks. The museum hopes the steel freestanding "trees" — and a $1 discount off admission for cyclists — will encourage patrons to bike to the Brooks.
The Cooper-Young Community Association is looking into making Cooper-Young more biker friendly...
At the next CYCA membership meeting, Tuesday, July 8, 6pm (on the new deck at First Congregational Church), guest speaker Anthony Siracusa, a daily bicycle commuter into and out of Cooper/Young and the director of Revolutions Community Bicycle Shop, will discuss his plan to provide bicycle racks that are one part art and one part bike rack, stripe bicycle lanes in the Cooper young neighborhood, and install "Share the Road with Bicyclists" street signs. These simple changes can lead to dramatic traffic calming in Cooper/Young, solve pernicious parking problems, and decrease street crime.
And finally...The City has been doing a lot of curb repair around midtown & downtown. Good news for all people on wheels!
