Pilot Light Ups

The weather is getting colder, meaning homes are set to turn up the heat. In order to ensure customer safety, MLGW encourages customers to have their appliances inspected and lit by an MLGW representative. MLGW is taking appointments for its pilot safety inspections from now until Dec. 31.

Call 820-7878 to use MLGW’s automated system 24 hours a day, seven days a week during pilot safety inspection season. Appointment times are Tuesdays through Thursdays: 8 a.m.-noon, noon-4 p.m. and 4 p.m.-8 p.m. Saturday appointments are also available.

The service is provided at no charge if your utilities are listed in your name, you are 60 years of age or disabled and you present the Customer Service Representative with verification at the time of service.

Otherwise, a service fee of $27 is billed to your account and covers up to three gas heating appliances. Each additional gas appliance will incur a $14.00 fee. Floor and wall furnaces should be cleaned prior to the technician’s arrival.

After Dec. 31, the service is free to all customers.
